Devi Ramachandran Thomas joined the United Nations Foundation in 2011. She serves as Senior Director of Shot@Life, a global campaign to increase access to immunizations for children in need through UN partners. She led the development and launch of the campaign and oversees its communications, marketing, partnerships and brand strategy.
For over 15 years, Devi has led strategic marketing, social responsibility and shared value philanthropic campaigns, including work for clients such as Pfizer, AIG, Xylem, Wal-Mart, Reebok and Western Union. This work includes specializing in corporate cause marketing campaigns, corporate social responsibility and public-private partnerships particularly in health and wellness as well as economic empowerment at Cone, Inc., a leading cause communications agency. As well as work at the non-profit, the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City where she helped build the Inner City 100 brand.
Throughout her career, Devi has worked on award-winning campaigns including Walgreens Get a Shot. Give a Shot TM, Johnson & Johnson’s Global Moms Relay, Xylem Watermark, and Western Union’s Our World Our Family. Shot@Life has been awarded numerous awards including a 2015 Effie award, two Cause Marketing Halo awards, the 2014 Reggie award and a 2013 PR News Award for Brand Marketing.
Devi holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and a Masters of International Relations from Boston University. She is the mother of two boys, ages five and two, and the proud daughter of Indian immigrants.
