Gavi

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance helps vaccinate almost half the world’s children against deadly and debilitating infectious diseases.

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance

was founded in 2000 to finance the purchase of lifesaving vaccines for children around the world. Today, Gavi protects people’s health by increasing access to immunizations for 17 infectious diseases in 73 low-income countries. Through its public-private partnerships and innovative financing models, Gavi negotiates with manufacturers to decrease vaccine prices for low-income countries by creating stable, long-term, and bulk purchase contracts for these countries. To date, Gavi has supported the immunization of 888 million children, preventing more than 15 million future deaths.

Shot@Life partners with Gavi by advocating for U.S. government funding for Gavi’s efforts to improve public health. Our grassroots advocates, including our partners at The General Federation of Women’s Clubs, also independently raise funds for Gavi.
