During the month of February, child health supporters at campuses across the country are joining with Shot@Life for a competition to support children in developing countries by raising funds and their voices. Students will raise money to support the delivery of life-saving measles vaccines.
Measles can be deadly in places without quality medical care, nutrition or sanitation, killing an estimated 330 people each day—the majority of whom are young children.
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, Shot@Life chapters will be selling valentines to fundraise for measles immunizations for children living in developing countries. For every $10 that is donated, 5 children can be fully protected against one of the most contagious and infectious diseases. Here’s a list of participating campuses:
- Loma Linda University
- Long Island University
- Roosevelt University
- South University – Columbia
- Temple University
- University of Florida
- University of Iowa
- University of Maryland – Baltimore
- University of New England
