Will You Join Me?

Shot@Life is a cause near to my heart as my father is a polio survivor. I recognize that my family is fortunate for his good health and feel strongly about the need to campaign for the eradication of polio and other vaccine-preventable diseases. I joined the Shot@Life team about a month ago and was shocked to learn that every 20 seconds a child in a developing country dies from a vaccine-preventable disease.

But today I’m encouraged, because this can change. Right now, Congress is deciding how much funding will go towards sustaining critical global health programs, including childhood vaccines. The numbers they come up with will have a big impact on how many children can be reached.

It’s important that your Representatives in Congress hear from YOU!

Global organizations like the United Nations, U.S. government agencies like the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and USAID, and other partners like the GAVI Alliance are working tirelessly to ensure that children in the hardest to reach areas have access to life-saving vaccines. But, support for their efforts starts with you. Let your Member of Congress know today that global childhood vaccines are important to you and that funding for these organizations must be sustained.
