The primary word that comes to mind when I think about the women I have met in every part of the world I have traveled to is RESILIENT. Women anywhere around the globe have a common quality and talent – the ability to adapt and persevere even when the odds seemed stacked against them. Never has this quality been tested more than when it comes to the health and happiness of their families. Women are the key healthcare decision makers and they have universally decided to go to any lengths necessary to get vital care for their babies starting with immunizations.
Throughout my travels with Shot@Life I have met mothers in places like the Philippines and Tanzania who will walk for miles and wait for hours for the opportunity to access vaccines for their young children because they know that a shot for that child can open up a lifetime of opportunities . The journey may be long and strenuous, but no obstacle is too large for a healthy start for her family. Please view and share this video that illustrates the journey women around the world will make with their child to access life-saving vaccines and join me in celebrating her resilience. She will not take “no” for an answer and she will do whatever it takes to ensure her goals protect our future: a future full of dreams and hope for her child.
