Last year, I hosted my first Shot@Life event with the help of my colleagues from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. We educated students and community members in a fun and creative way about the importance of global vaccinations.

For the past five weeks, Shot@Life Champions and supporters across the United States joined together to make an impact during the Advocate2Vaccinate challenge. Through their collective effort, they completed over 1,000 advocacy actions ranging from meeting with a member of Congress to writing letters to newspapers urging their elected officials to make global vaccines a priority.

The 2014 Shot@Life Champion Summit brought together the campaign’s top supporters to Washington D.C. supporters to become trained as Champions for the campaign by listening to inspiring speakers, learning necessary skills, and meeting with decision makers on Capitol Hill.
