Washington, D.C. (September 1, 2021) — For the ninth consecutive year, Walgreens is partnering with the United Nations Foundation for the Get a Shot. Give a Shot. program to help provide lifesaving vaccines to children around the world. Beginning September 1 until December 31, 2021, for every flu shot or other routine immunization administered, Walgreens will make a donation to the UN Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign, up to $2.6 million.
Around the world, one in five children lacks access to lifesaving vaccines. Since the inception of the campaign, Walgreens has helped provide 70 million measles and polio vaccines to children in 14 countries, including Haiti, Pakistan, and Sudan. By 2024, the partnership will help provide 100 million immunizations.

Shot@Life is a grassroots advocacy campaign of the United Nations Foundation that champions global childhood immunization as one of the most effective ways to save the lives of children around the world. We rally members of the public, members of Congress, businesses, and civil society partners — through public education and grassroots advocacy— to support and invest in the global childhood immunization programs of UNICEF, World Health Organization, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
