Walgreens

and Shot@Life have teamed up since 2013 on Get a Shot. Give a Shot,®, a program that will help provide 100 million lifesaving vaccines to children in need around the world by 2024. For every flu shot or other immunization administered at a Walgreens or associated store, Walgreens will help provide a vaccine to a child in need around the world through the Shot@Life campaign.

In less than a decade, the program has grown to an annual donation of $2.6 million, allowing 11 million vaccines to be distributed to children in need each year. In total, more than 70 million measles and polio vaccines have been provided to children in 15+ countries. The program has played a vital role in saving lives and increasing immunization rates in developing countries such as Bhutan, Chad, Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, East Timor, Sudan, and Tanzania.

In the fall of 2020, the Get a Shot. Give a Shot.® program also expanded to Norway in partnership with Walgreens’ sister company, Boots Apotek. Under the partnership, Boots Apotek also donates the value of a vaccine for every immunization administered at a Boots pharmacy in Norway.
