Meet our Team: Tracie

Tracie Sullivan is the Senior Campaign Associate for Shot@Life. In her role, she mobilizes volunteers to take action and raise awareness about the importance of global vaccination programs.  Learn more about Tracie in our Q&A below!

How long have you been with Shot@Life?

I have been with the Shot@Life team since December of 2018!

What has been your favorite moment since joining the team?

Our Shot@Life Champion Summit! It was so nice to be able to meet and connect with champions in person who I had been emailing with for several months. I also love to see advocacy in action, so the Hill Day was very exciting for me to see our advocates meet with their elected officials.

What do you think the biggest challenge is for vaccine advocacy?

I think right now vaccine hesitancy is one of the biggest challenges for vaccine advocacy. However, it also presents a great opportunity for increased education, awareness, and resources. People want more information about vaccines from reputable sources and Shot@Life can be one of the main outlets to help support that!

What do you wish people knew about advocacy?

How easy advocacy actions are and that most likely you already engage in advocacy in your daily life without being aware! How many of you attend student-teacher conferences, sign up to run a 5k for a specific cause, or wear a t-shirt in support of an organization? These are all forms of advocacy. I wish people knew that Shot@Life is here as a resource for you every step of the way, and we can help you with any new activity you want to participate in!

What excites you most about your work?

I really enjoy seeing our champions become more confident in their advocacy skills and grow to take on higher level actions! It is a pleasure to have champions develop a passion for advocacy and use that to go out in their communities to spread awareness.

Why did you join the Shot@Life team?

I have a true passion for health and advocacy, and I believe in the importance of vaccines. I also really enjoy training individuals on how they can use their voices to act and create positive change. Shot@Life grants me the opportunity to combine my passions and work for a cause that is close to my heart.

Do you have any fun facts that our champions may not know about you?

I absolutely love dogs! My family has a two-year-old golden doodle and a fifteen-year-old beagle that I will occasionally skype with to say hello. I am hoping to adopt a new furry friend in the next couple of years!
