Walgreens and United Nations Foundation have teamed up since 2013 on Get a Shot. Give a Shot,®, a campaign that has helped to provide more than 34 million lifesaving vaccines to children in developing countries. For every flu shot or other immunization administered at a Walgreens pharmacy, including Duane Reade and Walgreens-owned Rite-Aid stores, Walgreens will help provide a vaccine to a child in need through the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign. This award-winning partnership has helped provide vaccines to children in developing countries such as Bhutan, Chad, Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, East Timor, Sudan, and Tanzania. We are now heading into our sixth year together with Walgreens working to help protect millions more with lifesaving vaccines.
Walgreens is one of the nation’s largest drugstore chains and part of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc., the first global pharmacy-led, health and wellbeing enterprise. With 8,000 stores, Walgreens is present in communities across America, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
