Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance

With global immunization rates stagnating, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance was launched in 2000 to fund vaccines for children in the world’s 70 poorest countries. Its mission: to save children’s lives and protect people’s health by increasing access to immunization in the world’s poorest countries. Through its public-private partnerships and innovative financing model, Gavi has supported the immunization of 288 million additional children, who might not otherwise have had access to vaccines, and prevented over five million future deaths.
