Summer Blog Carnival: Life's Greatest Childhood Milestones

This summer, Shot@Life got a shot at one of life’s greatest milestones, making best friends. We traveled across the country to educate Americans about the importance of increasing access to global vaccines and we made a lot of new friends along the way.

We taught our friends about the fact that every 20 seconds a child dies of a disease that could have been prevented by a vaccine. We talked to them about childhood and how these children never get to celebrate their 5th birthday, ride their first bicycle and laugh with their best friends. We understood when tears swelled in their eyes as they learned that so many women around the world don't cry when their children die, because with their lack of access to life-saving vaccines, they have come to expect death. Then, we told them there was something they could do to help. We told them that by joining Shot@Life, together we can help give every child a shot at a healthy life.

Turns out our friends are passionate about children, fanatic about global health, obsessive about advocating for a cause, and they are pretty enthusiastic about telling their story for social good as well.
