Michele Mount
Senior Director of Programs, Public Policy & Communications, General Federation of Women's Clubs
Michele J. Mount is the senior director of programs, public policy and communications for the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, the world’s largest and oldest women’s volunteer service organization. She develops and maintains strategic partnerships, communications, public policy, internal relations, and external affairs plans to effectively promote GFWC and the work of its state federations, clubs, and members. Prior to her tenure at GFWC, Michele spent nine years at AAA New Jersey, where she was responsible for media, government, and community relations, a bi-monthly membership publication as well as administrating the Club’s nonprofit. Michele served as the AAA New Jersey’s principal spokesperson, having appeared on numerous radio and television programs covering a wide range of topics from travel and automotive to traffic safety and transportation.
A nationally certified child passenger safety technician instructor, she served as chairman of the National Child Passenger Safety Board where she played an integral role in the development of a standardized curriculum. A child advocate, Michele has served on numerous community, civic, and service organization boards and committees.
Michele earned a bachelor’s degree in social relations and communications from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
