For the past five weeks, Shot@Life Champions and supporters across the United States joined together to make an impact during the Advocate2Vaccinate challenge. Through their collective effort, they completed over 1,000 advocacy actions ranging from meeting with a member of Congress to writing letters to newspapers urging their elected officials to make global vaccines a priority.

Over the last five years, I have spent time in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia as a graduate student, a volunteer, and an aid worker. During this time, I witnessed firsthand the devastation of preventable childhood diseases - particularly in rural areas where medical care was sparse or non-existent.
