A Shot at Fun
October 15, 2013
Shot@Life supporters love celebrating milestones; from childhood firsts to motherhood, from birthdays to anniversaries.
The North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club celebrated federation friendship and life-saving vaccines with a different kind of shot: margaritas.
As part of a regular club meeting, members purchased margarita shots for a donation to Shot@Life. The club raised $200 to purchase and distribute life-saving vaccines. With this project, the Club won the award for the most creative Shot@Life project during the 2013 General Federation of Women’s Clubs Annual Convention.
The North Myrtle Beach Woman's Club was federated in 1974 with the mission to "promote interest and pride in our community, state and nation.” The Clubwomen are involved in a wide range of projects, including domestic violence, victim's advocacy, local cancer initiatives, homeless teens and the local humane society. While most of the Club’s projects are locally focused, the Clubwomen are excited to get involved with Shot@Life as part of their mission to improve the quality of life for many and reach out to others as far as they can.
The Club plans to host the margarita shot project again next year.
Thank you, ladies, for using your creativity and passion for children to help Shot@Life!
