Nicolette is a criminologist, educator, mother of two, and proud Girl Scout leader. She holds a master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida, with a specialty in mental health and substance abuse. She was the assistant director of the Criminal Justice Mental Health Substance Abuse Technical Assistance Center where she focused on program evaluation and policy analysis. Nicolette’s research areas include mental health court, drug court, and corrections. In addition to her research experience, she has also taught numerous courses in criminology and criminal justice. She joined Shot@Life in 2013 and is the central Florida champion leader. She firmly believes that access to healthcare is a human right and should not be dictated by one’s socioeconomic standing or geographic location. Currently, Nicolette is a candidate for the Orange County Board of County Commissioners in Orlando, Florida.
